Disciple's Duty: Properly Represent His Spiritual Master

The duty of the disciple is to hear and inquire submissively from his spiritual master and to always please his spiritual master by being fully obedient to his orders. In this way he will be empowered to be a first class representative of his spiritual master properly conveying his guru's teachings and mood of compassion to the ignorant suffering souls of this world, who are so desperately in need of spiritual enlightenment. Although in the beginning one may not be able to do this very well, if he humbly submits himself to be trained by his spiritual master and those who represent his spiritual master, in due course of time he will become a first class representative of his spiritual master who can properly and nicely assist him in his world deliverance mission.

Question: Can Animals Love?

Hello, I was happy to attend your lecture at University of Cincinnati last night (7 February 2015), and I enjoyed hearing your message. You said only a person can love, therefore the Supreme Being must be a person. But what about animals? Can't they love? (I don't mean to imply that the Supreme Being is an animal!) But just curious if you think animals can love too.

Thank you very much for attending my lecture. I am absolutely delighted that you came, and I am also very delighted that you have written to me.

Animals are also persons, they are not machines. This is one of the reasons why we don't eat them. We see how they can show loving affection to their young. We also see that animals, especially dogs, can be very dedicated to their masters. This is a good lesson for us how we can also be dedicated to those who guide us and protect us. Not only dogs, I have seen an incident of a cat who rescued a small child from the attack of a vicious dog.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
