My Life's Mission

Srila Prabhupada has taught us that we should take the order of our spiritual master as our very life and soul. In this connection he has stated in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 3.24.13 as follows:

"Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura has stated that the order of the spiritual master is the life and soul of the disciples. As a man cannot separate his life from his body, a disciple cannot separate the order of the spiritual master from his life. If a disciple follows the instruction of the spiritual master in that way, he is sure to become perfect."

So what is Srila Prabhupada's order? Just as Srila Prabhupada received in 1922 the order from his spiritual master to give Krishna consciousness to the English speaking world, he gave to his disciples on 17 December 1973 this instruction, "Just become perfect in the understanding of this science and become guru and deliver the whole world."

Therefore as his disciple it is my duty to embrace this instruction as my very life and soul. I must fully dedicate my entire life for delivering the suffering humanity from the vicious cycle of repeated birth and death. By absorbing myself fully in this way my becoming perfect is guaranteed.

Whether the disciple is successful or not in carrying out the order of his spiritual master is not an issue. The point is that he becomes perfect in spiritual life simply by his complete absorption in the attempt to carry out his guru's order. In this connection Srila Prabhupada writes in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 4.12.36 as follows:

"A Krishna conscious being is always engaged in planning how to take all of suffering humanity back home, back to Godhead. Even if one is not successful in reclaiming all the fallen souls back to Godhead, still, because he is Krishna conscious, his path to Vaikunthaloka is open. He personally becomes qualified to enter the Vaikunthalokas, and if anyone follows such a devotee, he also enters into Vaikunthaloka."

Therefore I must continue in my full time endeavor to save the suffering humanity until my last dying breath and be also willing to take birth after birth in this material world if that is what Krishna desires for me to do in order to successfully carry out this mission given to me by my spiritual master.

Question: How to Stop Thinking About Women?

How to stop thinking about women?

Your servant,
Bhakta Shashank

Answer: Think About All-Attractive Krishna Instead

If you will simply absorb your mind in the most beautiful, all-attractive Krishna, you will no longer be absorbed in thoughts of women. The only reason women appear attractive is that they are endowed with a tiny portion of Krishna's all-attractive potency. On their own they are not at all attractive. Why should you be attracted to a drop of water, which cannot satisfy your thirst, when you can instead be attracted to an unlimited reservoir of water that will fully satisfy your thirst forever and fully satisfy the thirst of everyone throughout the entire universe? In this way try to use your intelligence and focus your mind where you will derive unlimited satisfaction instead of agitation and frustration.
