Krishna's Stupendously Enchanting Flute Playing

Lord Sri Krishna is the supreme flute player because nobody can surpass Him in His enchanting ability. In the Krishna Book, a gopi girl describes Krishna's flute playing as follows:

"When He plays His flute, all the cows and other animals of Vrindavana, although engaged in eating, simply take a morsel of food in their mouths and stop chewing. Their ears raise up and they become stunned. They do not appear alive but like painted animals. Krishna's flute-playing is so attractive that even the animals become enchanted, and what to speak of ourselves."

And in the Srimad Bhagavatam we find the following verses:

"O pious mother Yasoda, your son, who is expert in all the arts of herding cows, has invented many new styles of flute-playing. When He takes His flute to His bimba-red lips and sends forth the tones of the harmonic scale in variegated melodies, Brahma, Siva, Indra and other chief demigods become confused upon hearing the sound. Although they are the most learned authorities, they cannot ascertain the essence of that music, and thus they bow down their heads and hearts."--SB 10.35.14-15

What about poor conditioned souls like us whose ears are not yet purified sufficiently so that we can relish hearing the sound of Krishna's flute. What can we do to get satisfied? The answer is that the sound of Krishna's flute is fully present within the Hare Krishna mahamantra. We simply have to go deep, deep into the chanting of the Hare Krishna mahamantra where will find the unlimitedly sweet, unlimitedly ambrosial, enchantingly divine sound of Krishna's flute fully manifested.

Question: Benefit of Chanting Is Scientifically Verifiable?

Gurudeva, while explaining to someone why we are chanting Hare Krishna, we say it's not because we are Hare Krishnas, that it's because we are following the injunction of the Kali Santarana Upanisad, which states that this is the most potent mantra for self-realization in the present age of Kali. If they then say that you Hare Krishnas are foolish sentimentalists, who blindly follow the scriptures even though they are not scientifically verifiable, what should we say in response?

Thank you!

Your insignificant servant,
Nandapriya Devi Dasi

Answer: Scientifically Verified By Our Experience

We chant Hare Krishna because it is the most potent means of attaining self-realization in this age of Kali. This truth is practically experienced, scientifically verified, by anyone who seriously takes up this sublime chanting process.
