When Governments Take Guidance from Bona Fide Guru
When the governments of the world take guidance from the bona fide spiritual master there will be a new dawn of peace and prosperity for the entire human society. So I was very happy when I was invited to speak to an agency of the Mauritius government on how one can be happy while working his job. I explained to the government employees how important it is to realize one's spiritual identity and to reconnect with it every day before coming to work by chanting the holy names of God. As long as one misidentifies himself with his temporary material body he must necessarily suffer from so many material miseries. But when one connects with God he realizes his eternal, all blissful, fully cognizant identity, which is never affected by any material miseries. I pray for that day when all the governments all over the world will be eager to take training from the bona fide spiritual master on how everyone can become genuinely happy.

Question: Are Material Relationships Real?
Dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
In society man has created language and given names for the relationships for social conventions. Words like someone is my mother, father, brother, uncle, aunt, etc. are just being created by human beings. In actuality, no one is my mother, father, brother, etc. From Krishna consciousness perspective, it is only Krishna and His energy that exists. So when we love and serve Krishna purely then as a natural off shoot of that our real love and service goes for every living entity. Is this understanding correct?

Answer: Yes, But They Do Not Endure
Although our relationships in this world such as father mother, brother, son, etc. are factual or not false, they do not have an enduring reality since they are all finished when one transmigrates to another body at the time of death. The eternal, permanent relationship we do have is that we are all part and parcel of Krishna, the Supreme Person, the source of all existence. So your understanding is correct. Just as when we water the root of a tree all the leaves and branches are nourished, when we give our love to Krishna, who is the root of all existence, our love is naturally, easily, sublimely, and purely distributed to all living beings everywhere. As long as we focus our love on these temporary relationships, we are bound to be frustrated. But when we learn how to love Krishna, we will become perfect in loving everyone, and we will taste unlimited bliss at every minute.
