Remembering Srila Prabhupada

Even more nectarean than remembering Krishna is remembering Srila Prabhupada, the topmost pure devotee of Lord Krishna. It is my unlimited good fortune that I had the opportunity to accept Srila Prabhupada as my spiritual master and to associate and communicate with him on numerous occasions. And now even in the pain of his separation since his departure from this planet in 1977 it is the greatest benediction of Lord Krishna that simply by remembering Srila Prabhupada I can still directly experience his divine presence which purifies my heart, uplifts my consciousness, and helps me to understanding how I can properly serve him and Lord Sri Krishna in all circumstances.

Question: Fear of Being Killed by Terrorists

Hare Krishna Gurudeva,
My humble obeisances,
All glories to Srila Prabhupada,

I am getting really worried to see how thousands of people are getting killed by the Islam terrorism. Recently on 16th March 2014 about 200 Christian people in Nigeria are killed by armed Muslims. Now these incidences are creating fear amongst our heart that this may happen to us too. How to understand this? Being a beginner devotee, a sadhaka, how can I get relieved of these anxieties? Is it proper way to understand nothing happens without Krishna's will and by all these all experiences in this world Krishna is asking us to get aware and take devotional life seriously and go back home? Or is there anything more we need to understand.?

Answer: Death Only When Sanctioned by Krishna

It is said:

rākhe kṛṣṇa māre ke, māre kṛṣṇa rākhe ke

"He whom Krishna protects, no one can kill, but if Krishna wants to kill someone, no one can give him protection."

So why be in any anxiety about dying? Just depend on Krishna with full faith that you will only die when He wants you to die, not before that. Use the anxiety you feel as an impetus to take complete shelter of Lord Krishna, which will free you completely from all the anxieties that we experience in this material world.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
