Wonderful Facility for Spiritual Progress

It is really wonderful to see how lovingly the devotees here in New Delhi are worshipping and serving Lord Sri Krishna. ISKCON's Partha-sarathi temple in New Delhi is extraordinarily beautiful and regularly attracts thousands of people to come and see their beautiful Lord Sri Krishna, hear about His glories, devotedly chant His names in congregation, and partake of sumptuous foodstuffs which have been offered to Him with love and devotion. In other words this wonderful spiritual atmosphere the devotees have made at this temple inspires people to engage in those very activities which will deliver them from the cycle of birth and death. May everyone in New Delhi take full advantage of the wonderful mercy which is available to them at this temple.

Question: Why Did God Create Carnivores?

This question is being puzzling me for a long period of time. Can you please let me know why did God create carnivores in this world that mercilessly kill other animals for their food?

Excited to see your reply on this.

Thanks and Regards,
Ram

Answer: When We Violate God's Law We Are Punished

Our spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, has answered your question as follows:

"The living beings who have come to the material world against the will of the Supreme Being are under the control of a supreme power called maya-sakti, the deputed agent of the Lord, and this daivi maya is meant to pinch the conditioned souls by threefold miseries, one of which is explained here in this verse (Srimad Bhagavatam 1.13.47): the weak are the subsistence of the strong. No one is strong enough to protect himself from the onslaught of a stronger, and by the will of the Lord there are systematic categories of the weak, the stronger and the strongest. There is nothing to be lamented if a tiger eats a weaker animal, including a man, because that is the law of the Supreme Lord."

Thank you for your interest in the science of Krishna consciousness.
