Did We Come from Stoned Monkeys?

In 1993 Terence McKenna (November 16, 1946–April 3, 2000, an American ethnobotanist, introduced the stoned ape theory that apes who regularly ate psilocybin mushrooms in large quantities became human beings. He thus proposed that such psychedelic drugs as psilocybin mushrooms enhance consciousness. But factually such drugs degrade the consciousness instead of enhancing it. Did he not realize how stupid his speculation was because of taking too many "magic" mushrooms?

The fact, as confirmed the Vedic wisdom and by the personal experience of those who are seriously practicing the science of Krishna consciousness, is that our original enlightened spiritual consciousness is already there. It is simply sleeping right now. All we have do is revive it is to chant the holy names of God. Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

The 8,400,000 species including apes and humans are eternally there. It is not that one species changes into another species. The only evolution that takes place is that in one life the spirit soul is in a certain type of body and in his next lifetime he is in a different type of body. According to his karma he either goes up to a higher, more conscious form of life such as transmigrating from ape to human, or he degrades to a less conscious form of life like a tree like from a human down to a tree..

My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell

As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what is the meaning of life, but no one could tell me. So I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971 he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
