Preaching Report from Sadbhuja Das

Here is a preaching report from my disciple, Sadbhuja Das:

Dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble obeisance,
All glories to Your Divine Grace and Srimati Gurumataji,
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Hare Krishna Srila Gurudeva. Recently I have been asked to give a lecture on B.G. 7.11 at our IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Mandi centre (Himachal Pradesh, India). Devotees appreciated my lecture for presenting it purely. During the lecture I was explaining how intelligence has come from Lord Krishna. I made the point that even though it is widely believed by most people that Albert Einstein to be the greatest scientist, still he did not create his own intelligence, it was provided to him by God. If Albert Einstein were the source of his intelligence, he could produce millions of Einstein as intelligent as he is, which he could not. On the other hand Lord Krishna can turn even a fool person into a great learned scholar, can empower a dumb person to give eloquent lectures. This proves that intelligence has come from God and this explanation was very much liked by the director of our institute IIT Mandi, who happens to be a senior ISKCON devotee HG Lila Purushottam Das Prabhuji.

Another realization I got during the lecture, when we sincerely try to follow the instructions of senior vaishnavas, our spiritual master, then God will help us to execute that instruction irrespective of our many disqualifications. Last year when I went to Sri Vrindavan Dham to meet your graces, Srimati Gurumataji personally instructed me whenever you get an opportunity, give class at your centre. Usually I hesitate to give class to the large audience since I am neither qualified, nor a good speaker due to my stammering problem. However, remembering Srimati Gurumataji's instruction, I gave the Bhagavad Gita class at our centre and amazingly while giving the lecture, perfect words came to my mouth by the grace of God. Srila Gurudeva, I seek your blessings that I continue to preach purely the messages of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu without any fear.

In the same email thread I would like to let you know that during the last December Gita Jayanti Marathon, I distributed 25 Big Bhagavad Gita books in some places near my hometown. An amazing realization I got during book distribution is that we are not actually distributing the books , indeed we are merely the instrument in the hands of Srila Prabhupada in distributing his books. On two occasions, I was not able to distribute even a single book after approaching several people for nearly two hours. Being depressed in heart, I started praying to the Lord, to Srila Prabhupada to help me to distribute these most precious books to the suffering souls. To my surprise, the next moment whomever I approached to take a copy of Gita, most of them took it. That is the power of prayer to Srila Prabhupada, to Lord krishna. They reciprocate to the prayers of devotees according to the degree of our surrender. Jaya Srila Prabhupada.

What is ISKCON and what importance does it hold in today's generation?

ISKCON is dedicated to bring God back to center of the human society. It accepts all faiths and all names for God. It gives nonsectarian guidance of the science of God, how anyone from any faith can become spiritually perfect, how a Hindu can become a perfect Hindu, how a Muslim can become a perfect Muslim, how a Christian can become a perfect Christian, etc. It offers today’s generation a method by which they can now lead the world out of chaos by ushering in a new age of peace and prosperity in every town, village, city, household, and hamlet all over the world.,

My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell

As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what is the meaning of life, but no one could tell me. So I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971 he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious.
