Do You Want to Return to Your Original Home

13 March 2025

The bona fide spiritual master takes us to back to our original home in the spiritual world, that place where we once happily lived before we made the foolish mistake of thinking we could happier in a world where we can think ourselves to be the Supreme. This mistake has caused us endless suffering. But now God has so kindly sent us a bona fide to take out of this miserable existence back to our original home in the Spiritual Sky.

But the problem that most people have is that because of having been stuck here for so long they that their misery is actually happiness. The hog thinks that stool is delicious. This reminds me of famous novel, 'I've been down so long it looks like up to me."

Transcendental Correspondence

Hare Krishna,
Please accept my respectful obeisance.
I am following your daily insights and convey my heartily thanks for uplifting the inner consciousness towards Krishna consciousness.
I have a question!!

"We are a Soul! It means suppose a year back if a population of this world is 1 million, it is 1 million souls as well and now the population of this world is 1.5 million. How extra or additional souls did come from? "

Please guide me for my doubts!

Regards
ADARSH

Answer

From: Vrindavan, India

My Dear Adarsh,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Thank you for your nice question.

There is a fixed number of souls throughout all of existence. It is not that new souls are being added.
I say this, not based on my imperfect opinion. I say this base on the authority of the Bhagavad-gita in which Lord Sri Krishna states:

na tv evāhaṁ jātu nāsaṁ
na tvaṁ neme janādhipāḥ
na caiva na bhaviṣyāmaḥ
sarve vayam ataḥ param

"Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you,
nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be."

Thus no souls are ever being created. All souls are eternally existing unlimitedly into the past and unlimitedly into the future. These souls are sometimes in human forms. Sometimes in animal forms. Sometimes in plant forms. And even sometimes they are microbial germs. They are on this planet and on every other planet in this universe. They are even existing everything throughout the multiverses and beyond this entire material existence in the spiritual sky.

Thus you cannot count the number of souls based on
population on this planet. If you are willing to know the
souls throughout all of existence, the simple answer is
that there is an infinite number of souls being manifested by Lord Krishna eternally.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful mood.

Your ever well-wisher,

Sankarshan Das Adhikari

My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell

As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what is the meaning of life, but no one could tell me. So I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971 he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious.
