Can I Offer My Means of Livelihood to Krishna?

I often advise my students and disciples that they can do their job or business and offer its results to Krishna. Here is the sastric reference for this advice. It is in The Nectar of Devotion under the headline Performing All Endeavors for Krishna.

"In the Nārada-pañcarātra there is a statement of how one can act in all spheres of life for the satisfaction of the Lord. It is stated there that a person who is actually in devotional service must be engaged in all kinds of activities—those prescribed in the revealed scriptures and also those which are accepted for livelihood. In other words, not only should a devotee engage himself in the prescribed duties of devotional service which are mentioned in the revealed scriptures, but he should also perform the duties of his practical life in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. For example, a devotee who has a great establishment or factory may offer the fruits of such a material possession for the service of the Lord."

So whether you are working a job, running a business, or a farm to support your livelihood you can dovetail this in the service of Krishna and be happy.

Transcendental Correspondence

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

It has been my purpose to write You a message and ask about AI, artificial intelligence. Recently you wrote in your daily messages, that AI does not care us, but that you care. I started to think more about this issue, and some questions came into my mind. Because I have not been able to study Krishna literature regularly recently, I do not anymore remember all theories so well, so there are some questions in my mind.

I beg to acknowledge receipt of your email dated 26 March 2025 copied below and have noted the contents.

Here are your questions with answers:

Question: So, this jivatma is different from Brahman and Paramatman? It is us?
Answer: Yes, each one of us is a jivatma and we are different from Brahman (the Lord’s bodiy effulgence) and the Paramatma (the expansion of the Lord seating within everyone’s heart).

Question: And we are little parts and parcels of Krishna, but different from Brahman and Paramatma?
Answer: Yes

Question: So, what is the difference between Guru and AI?
Answer: Guru is a person which whom we can have loving
exchange and AI (Artificial Intelligence) is simply computer
code. I sometimes call it “asinine intelligence”.

Question: Guru represents Paramatma to a jivatma? AI represents only Brahman, formless and impersonal form of Krishna? Even artificial intelligence is Krishna, but not in so personal form, but more impersonal?
Answer: AI does not represent Brahman. It is not Krishna. It is non-Krishna. As everything is the energy of the Krishna AI is also the energy of Krishna. It is part of Krishna’s deluding material energy. It is impersonal.

Question: But I'm just wondering, that when we (you and me) are associating with each other via internet, am I association with Guru/representative of Paramatma, or with Brahman, impersonal energy. I guess I'm associating with Paramatma. And when I'm listening Your lecture, this is the same situation.
Answer: You are directly associating with me. When the spiritual master gives a lecture, or by reading his writings you are in direct contact with him. And because he purely represents Krishna through him you are in direct contact with Krishna.

Question: But I have understood, that artificial intelligence can also imitate you. It can code your lectures, your voice, Krishna literature, and then it can make new lectures with your voice, according to Krishna conscious teachings. Its memory and intelligence can be very high. It is expert in memorizing the slokas, and giving lectures. So, anyway, it is not personal in its dealings. It is artificial, and we should not get for example initiated by it? I guess that in future there will be many kinds of challenges in this world because of AI!
Answer: The spiritual master is a person. By having a loving relationship with the spiritual master you are awakening your loving feelings for Krishna. You can’t have a loving relationship with AI because it is nothing more than computer code. Paul McCartney wrote in a song, “I don’t want to live in a world without love.” The more AI becomes predominant in our world, the more our the people of this world will become stupid, loveless and miserable. Those who have awakened their dormant Krishna consciousness are the only intelligent people in this world. Intelligence means to know things as they are that Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead and that we are all His eternal servants. Those who have no intelligence have concocted this so-called artificial intelligence, which has zero intelligence. Because they have eaten so much meat, had so much illicit sex, taken so many intoxicants, and spoiled themselves by gambling they have spoiled their brains. If we take shelter of their artificial intelligence we will also spoil our brains.

My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell

As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what is the meaning of life, but no one could tell me. So I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971 he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious.
