How to Experience a Thrill at Every Minute
4 March 2025
In the Bhagavad-gita (Chapter 18, Verse 76) we find the most wonderfully enlightening wisdom:rājan saṁsmṛtya saṁsmṛtya
saṁvādam imam adbhutam
keśavārjunayoḥ puṇyaṁ
hṛṣyāmi ca muhur muhuḥ
"O King, as I repeatedly recall this wondrous and holy dialogue between Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna, I take pleasure, being thrilled at every moment."
PURPORT by Srila Prabhupada
"The understanding of Bhagavad-gītā is so transcendental that anyone who becomes conversant with the topics of Arjuna and Kṛṣṇa becomes righteous and he cannot forget such talks. This is the transcendental position of spiritual life. In other words, one who hears the Gītā from the right source, directly from Kṛṣṇa, attains full Kṛṣṇa consciousness. The result of Kṛṣṇa consciousness is that one becomes increasingly enlightened, and he enjoys life with a thrill, not only for some time, but at every moment."
.
This means that by awakening our dormant Krishna consciousness we can experience a thrill at every moment for all of eternity. The materialists go after cheap thrills through sex, intoxication, money, power, and fame. But these are bitter pills, temporary thrills, not worth the trouble of pursuing. So don't waste your time playing around in misery when supreme nirvana, Krishna consciousness, is easily available right here, right now at your fingertips.

Hare Krishna Srila Gurudev,Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to you and Srila Prabhupada.
Dear Gurudev, if due to past conditionings we become attached to someone though they don't reciprocate, and we know in this material world relations are temporary, can we give them Srila Prabhupada's books and then go from their life?
Will that make our bond eternal with them in the spiritual world even though here they don't interact with us?
Will this also please Krishna and guru if by their mercy this person reads the book and becomes inclined to bhakti?
Your most fallen servant,
Jahanvi
Answer
From: Pune, IndiaMy Dear Jahanvi,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
It’s always a blessing to give anyone one of Srila Prabhupada’s books. In this regard Srila Prabhupada said, "And if he reads one line his life will be successful -- if he reads one line only, carefully. This is such literature. So therefore book distribution I am giving so much stress.” It is better if they give some donation because then they will be more inclined to read it because they will want to get value from the money they have spent.
We all have eternal bonds with all living beings, even the little ant, because we are all Krishna’s devotees in the spiritual world.
Any attempt to make others Krishna conscious gives the greatest pleasure to the spiritual master and Lord Sri Krishna. Therefore those who have proper intelligence fully absorb their lives in making the whole world Krishna conscious.
I hope this meets you in the best of health.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell
As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what is the meaning of life, but no one could tell me. So I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971 he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious. To read about my journey in detail get my memoir:
