Who is Krishna's Most Dear Devotee
11 April 2025
In Chapter 18, Text 69 of the Bhagavad-gita Lord Sri Krishna tells Arjuna regarding those who preach on His behalf: "There is no servant in this world more dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear." This is really amazing. How can one devotee can be the most dear of all His unlimited millions and billions of devotees throughout the material and spiritual worlds? Only one devotee could have this extraordinarily unique number one position. But yet Krishna bestows this special status on anyone who preaches on His behalf.Someone may wonder, "How is this possible? It seems contradictory." The resolution for this apparent conflict is quite simple. It is easy to understand how this is possible by Krishna's inconceivable potency. We simply have to consider Krishna's pastimes with His 16,108 queens in Dvaraka. After spending the night as 16108 Krishnas with His 16108 queens in 16108 palaces He would become one Krishna and enter the Sudharma assembly house to engage in royal duties. Then in the evening He would again become 16,108 Krishnas to enjoy pastimes with each of His 16,108 queens. Each queen was treated as if she was the only queen. She experienced herself as being the only queen, that she had Krishna totally for herself, that she did not have to share Krishna with any of the other queens.
In this connection we can understand that when we fully give ourselves to Krishna He fully gives Himself to us. When we are fully under Krishna's control He becomes fully under our control. We see this in the example of Mother Yasoda. She ordered baby Krishna to take to Nanda Maharaja his big, heavy wooden sandals and Krishna struggled to comply with her order.
From this we can easily understand that any person who dedicates himself fully for pushing forward this Krishna consciousness movement becomes the most dear of all Krishna's devotees. Each of these such devotees is the most special of all of Krishna's devotees.
So let us cash in on this mercy of being especially recognized by Krishna by following Lord Caitanya's order by telling everyone we meet about the teachings of Krishna.

Answer
From: Tallinn, EstoniaMy Dear Sarthak,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Guidance in general is to chant at least 16 rounds japa mala daily and strictly avoid iliict sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling.
Specific guidance means that you ask questions and I will answer them as Lord Sri Krishna states in the Bhagavad-gita 4.34:
tad viddhi praṇipātena
paripraśnena sevayā
upadekṣyanti te jñānaṁ
jñāninas tattva-darśinaḥ
"Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.”
So now you need to inquire.
I hope this meets you in the best of health
and in a cheerful mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell
As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what is the meaning of life, but no one could tell me. So I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971 he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious. To read about my journey in detail get my memoir:
