Krishna Sent Prabhupada Here to Deliver Us

Srila Prabhupada told his disciple Bhavananda Maharaja,

"Originally, I did not want to come here." Srila Prabhupada was not talking about coming to America. He was talking about coming to the material world. Srila Prabhupada continued, "Krishna asked, 'I want you to write those books. Come down and write those books.'" Prabhupada said to Krishna, "But I don't want to go to the material world." Krishna said, "Don't worry. I'll take care of everything. You write those books."

From this we can understand how exalted of a personality Srila Prabhupada and how important his books are. He is one of Krishna's personal associates in the spiritual world who was sent by Krishna to write these books on which our Hare Krishna movement is based. And we can also understand how important these books are for our benefit and the benefit of the entire world.

Let us all full surrender to following the instructions from our most beloved Lord Sri Krishna. They have been transmitted to us via Srila Prabhupada's books.

I am new in Krishna consciousness. As you say l am trying to chant holy name of Lord Krishna, but whenever l tried to chant my mind get distracted every time. I am not able to concentrate on changing please Gurudev guide me.

My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell

As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what is the meaning of life, but no one could tell me. So I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971 he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
