Today's Ministers are Hypocrites

On a morning walk in Los Angeles on 11 December 1973 Srila Prabhupada exposed the hypocrisy of the modern day religious leaders who talk about trusting in God while they sit smoking in the parlor:

"We trust in God; therefore we have sacrificed our whole life for God. This is trust in God. Not that smoking in the parlor, and you trust in God. Not that kind of trust. Real trust. Trust means first of all you know what is God. Suppose that if you say 'Trust this man.' But I must know what is this man. Then my trust will be convinced, that 'He is very respectful man, he's rich man, he's able man...' Yes, I can trust. But simply trust in God, you do not know what is God, what is trust, and it is going on. Why this bluff? "

This reminds me of the two ministers we had at our church in Houston, Texas when I was a young boy. The first minister would sit in his office smoking a pipe and the second minister would sit in his office smoking a cigar. When I visited him his entire office was filled with cigar smoke. Just see the hypocrisy. They were so much absorbed in material sense gratification while making a show of being devoted to God in order to earn a livelihood.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Who is this Krishna?

Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
