How to Become Free From All Suffering

Since all suffering is due to bodily misidentification, if we will properly understand and realize our factual eternal identities beyond these temporary material bodies as spiritual beings who are the eternal servants of Krishna, the three fold material miseries will never be able to pinch us again. When they come, as they often do, they will just be something out there in the material energy. They won't effect us. We saw this perfect example in our most beloved Founder-Acharya, His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.

Question: How to Defeat this Mayavadi Argument?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I was discussing with a Mayavadi the other day the argument that Krishna is the Supreme. He said Shiva and Krishna are equal. I tried explaining that Shiva is devotee of Krishna, but he could not accept and believed that they are equal. He would also not accept the yogurt and milk example, saying that I just wasn't to a full understanding yet. I even told him Lord Brahma is describing Krishna as the Supreme in the Brahma-samhita, not Shiva. Is there a way to defeat this using sāstra? Or will they just counter the argument saying Shiva is equal no matter what?

In the Brahma-Samhita, it is confirmed by Lord Brahma, a topmost Vedic authority that Shiva is a transformation from Lord Krishna for the work of destruction just as milk is transformed into yogurt:

Brahma-samhita 5.45
kṣīraṁ yathā dadhi vikāra-viśeṣa-yogāt
sañjāyate na hi tataḥ pṛthag asti hetoḥ
yaḥ śambhutām api tathā samupaiti kāryād
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi

"Just as milk is transformed into curd by the action of acids, but yet the effect curd is neither same as, nor different from, its cause, viz., milk, so I adore the primeval Lord Govinda of whom the state of Śambhu, Lord Shiva, is a transformation for the performance of the work of destruction."

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
