It is Better to Avoid Sex

Srila Prabhupada teaches that is better to avoid sex completely because sex is the binding knot that has kept us bound up in this material existence since time immemorial. He also says that if is not possible to avoid it completely that should only utilize sex for producing Krishna conscious children. Such sex is Krishna Himself as He states in the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 7, Text 11:

balaṁ balavatāṁ cāhaṁ
kāma-rāga-vivarjitam
dharmāviruddho bhūteṣu
kāmo 'smi bharatarṣabha

"I am the strength of the strong, devoid of passion and desire. I am sex life which is not contrary to religious principles, O lord of the Bhāratas [Arjuna]."

Question: How to Beget a Krishna Conscious Child?

I am Piyush from Delhi, India. I am a follower of His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaja. I want to know the proper procedure for begetting a child so that by the mercy of Krishna we can beget a Krishna conscious child for growing this movement.

The procedure given by Srila Prabhupada for producing a Krishna conscious child is as follows:

1. The husband and wife should both be initiated devotees
2. Obtain permission from the spiritual master for trying to beget a child
3. 4 to 6 days after the wife's menstrual cycle the husband and wife should both chant at least 50 rounds of Hare Krishna japa mala
4. Have sex

Other than this there should be no sex between husband and wife. Sex should completely avoided.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
