Vedic Authorities Confirm that Krishna is the Supreme
Many people doubt that Krishna is the Supreme God. But if we consult the Vedic wisdom and the great Vedic authorities, Krishna's position as the Supreme Person is confirmed.

Answers According to the Vedic Wisdom

Question: Why You Say that Krishna is the Supreme?

Respected Guruji,
Why do we associate only Shri Krishna with such attributes of being the Supreme? Why not Shiva, Brahma or Devi Durga. If we talk to a Shaivite or a bhakt of Devi they will also argue the same. Why only Krishna?

According to the logic proposed here we must believe that Shri Krishna is the only Supreme Personality. But, if read the Shiva Purana or other texts we find all the attributes described you can also be associated with others.

According to Advaita Vedanta logic God has no form and it's you yourself is same as the God. Aham Brahmashmi!!!

So, there are a lot of paths, but saying any one path or only Krishna as supreme God is matter of believing and I think cannot be scientific.

I can belive it only if I experience it, and that would test the Vedantic logic as well. So, I request you to please guide me to experience only Krishna as supreme God.

Regards!!

Answer: Great Authorities Say that Krishna is Supreme

My Dear Pradeep,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

You've raised some interesting questions. Let's see what the great Vedic authorities have to say:

Lord Brahma states:

īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ
sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥ
anādir ādir govindaḥ
sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam

"Krishna who is known as Govinda is the Supreme Godhead. He has an eternal blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin and He is the prime cause of all causes."
—Brahma Samhita, Chapter 5, Text 1

Now let's hear what Lord Shiva says. He told his wife, Parvati, that worship of Vishnu is the topmost worship. (Krishna is original form of Vishnu.)

ārādhanānāṁ sarveṣāṁ
viṣṇor ārādhanaṁ param
tasmāt parataraṁ devi
tadīyānāṁ samarcanam

"Of all types of worship, worship of Lord Vishnu is best, and better than the worship of Lord Vishnu is the worship of His devotee, the Vaisnava."

The idea that God has no form and that everything is one and that everyone is thus God is not correct. This philosophy was presented by Sankaracarya (an incarnation of Lord Shiva) to defeat the Buddhistic philosophy that everything is zero. But then later on after driving Buddhism out of India Sankaracarya taught that Krishna is the Supreme:

"I am always engaged in offering obeisances to Lord Vasudeva in pure Krishna consciousness. Krishna consciousness is always pure consciousness, in which the Supreme Personality of Godhead, known as Vasudeva, is revealed without any covering."
—Srimad Bhagavatam, Fourth Canto, Chapter 3, Text 23

Science means to know things as they are. Therefore confirmed by the authority of the great acharyas we know that Krishna is the Supreme.

Your question of how to experience Krishna as the Supreme God is wonderful. In this connection it is sometimes said that proof of the pudding is in the eating. If you will chant daily the Hare Krishna mantra at least 16 rounds of japa mala and refrain from illicit sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling, you will have your own personal realization of how Krishna is indeed the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.
