Today is Gita Jayanti, the anniversary day of when the most wonderful Bhagavad-gita was spoken 5,000 years ago by Lord Sri Krishna to His beloved disciple Arjuna on the Battlefield of Kurukshsetra just before the fighting started. It is also the appearance day of Lord Jesus Christ, who appeared approximately 2,000 years ago, that great pure devotee of the Supreme Lord who inspired me to beg God for guidance on how to be the perfect servant of God. My prayer was answered when it was revealed to me by His Holiness Vishnujana Swami that I should fully surrender to Lord Sri Krishna by becoming a disciple of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.

Question: Can a Guru Be Rejected?

My mother follows a guru who has been given a sentence of life in prison for engaging in sinful activities. But my mother says that after accepting initiation we cannot reject a guru, that we must always follow him. So what should be done?

Answer: If He is Bogus, He Must Be Rejected.

If the guru says one thing and does another thing, he is not a bona fide spiritual master. The bona fide spiritual master is the living embodiment of what he teaches.

In this Kali Yuga, the age of quarrel and hypocrisy, 99.99% of the gurus are bogus. I was cheated and misled by many of these bogus gurus before I was fortunate to the find the bona fide spiritual master. Unfortunately at the present time practically the whole world is under the influence of these bogus gurus, and thus the entire global civilization has been cast into an ocean of chaos and confusion.

Even if one takes diksha (initiation) from a bogus guru as I did, one should immediately reject the bogus guru and take shelter of and initiation from the bona fide spiritual master. Otherwise he is throwing away his valuable human form of life and relegating himself to follow his bogus guru to take birth in the realm of the lower species such as the dogs, hogs, and monkeys.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
