How to Take the Pandemic as a Blessing
All over the world people are home quarantined under government orders to stay at home as much as possible that they can only go out for that which is absolutely necessary such as for groceries and medicine. Many are finding this be tortuous like being a prisoner in one's own home. But actually it is a blessing in disguise. Now that there is no scope for outside enjoyment it is great opportunity for people to seriously pursue the path of self-realization, awakening the divine consciousness, the Krishna consciousness, that is now sleeping within. By this awakening one discovers an ocean of ever-increasing happiness which is transcendental to the ups and downs of this material world.

I am a vegetarian. But I eat eggs, onion and garlic. Is this necessary to leave all these as well?
Vaibhav Kumar Arya
My Dear Arya,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
It is sinful to eat any foods which have not been first offered to Krishna or God. Since Krishna does not accept eggs, onions, and garlic we do not partake of them. Krishna accepts fruits, grains, dairy products and
vegetables that have been offered to Him with love and devotion. So this is what our diet consists of, nothing else. This is called Krishna prasadam which means "the mercy of Lord Sri Krishna."
I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
