Accepting the World Deliverance Mission

My spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, gave us the following order on 17 December 1973 in Los Angeles, California, USA:

"Just become perfect in the understanding of this science and become guru and deliver the whole world."

So how are to relate to the orders we have received from our spiritual master. Are they optional or mandatory? In this connection Srila Prabhupada has written as follows in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam, Third Canto, Chapter 24, Text 13:

"Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura has stated that the order of the spiritual master is the life and soul of the disciples. As a man cannot separate his life from his body, a disciple cannot separate the order of the spiritual master from his life. If a disciple follows the instruction of the spiritual master in that way, he is sure to become perfect. This is confirmed in the Upanisads: the import of Vedic instruction is revealed automatically only to one who has implicit faith in the Supreme Personality of Godhead and in his spiritual master."

So it is only by this unflinching faith in the orders received by one's spiritual master that one can understand the true meaning of the Vedic literature. Thus if we can to truly understand the Vedic teachings we must accept the world deliverance mission given to us by Srila Prabhupada as our very life and soul.

Question: Liberation When One's Guru is Bogus?

If a pure and true disciple serves the pseudo guru (but the disciple doesn't know that), will he attain the truth/self-realization even when his guru has no trace of truth/self-realization?

Chirag Khatri

Answer: Sincere Seekers Get Bona Fide Gurus

If one wants to be cheated, he will be attracted to a bogus guru who will misguide him and leave him in a state of illusion. But those who are sincere about attaining genuine self-realization will be guided by the Lord within their hearts to take shelter of a bona fide spiritual master.
