On a Mission to Save the World

On the order of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, we are on a mission to save the world. It is very painful for us to see a world in which 156 million innocent animals are murdered every day so that people can satisfy their lusty desires to relish the taste of flesh and blood. And it is even more painful to see a world in which 66 thousand innocent babies are murdered every day with the sanction of our present day world's governments so that people can enjoy having sex without being bothered with having to raise and protect the children that they produce. The bottom line is that we are not living in a human society. We are living in animal society. Therefore our mission is to turn the animals into human beings.

We do not know whether or not we will be successful in carrying out this order that we have received to save the world. But whether we are successful or not in saving the world, it is our most sacred duty to try to do so. At least by our making this endeavor our lives will be perfect and anyone who follows us will also be perfect. And if by the special mercy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu we are successful in our mission, it will be the greatest and most glorious paradigm shift that has ever transpired in the history of our universe. So let's try for it and see what happens. What could be a more ecstatic life than this?

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
