Turn the Tide of the Times

The tide of Kali has swept in and is drowning the whole in senseless hedonism, godlessness, and self-indulging so-called religion. In spite of the repeated attempts of the leaders to rectify the situation, due to their pathetic ineptness, the chaos continues its downward spiral, escalating more and more, leaving the world population ever more confused and frustrated. What is needed now more than ever is a powerful spiritual revolution to turn the tide of the times away from this insanity back to the original pure happy harmonious loving culture that once thrived on this planet. By the combined mercy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada that spiritual revolution is now happening all over the world, in the form of the Krishna consciousness movement. All thoughtful and intelligent people should now wholeheartedly join this movement so that through a tight knit global co-operative network we can successfully turn the tide of the times.

Question: Meditate on Lord's Four-Armed or Two-Armed Form?

Respected Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

When one thinks of the Lord within our hearts, as per Krishna's instruction in Bhagavad-gita 18.61, should one meditate on one of the many four-armed Vishnu forms of the Lord or should one meditate on the be Lord's original two-armed Krishna forms?

Shriram

Answer: Two-Armed Syamasundara

Srila Prabhupada has answered your question as follows in his purport to Bhagavad-gita 11.55:

"There are hundreds and thousands of Vishnus, but for a devotee no form of Krishna is important but the original form, two-handed Syamasundara. In the Brahma-samhita it is stated that those who are attached to the Syamasundara form of Krishna in love and devotion can see Him always within the heart and cannot see anything else."
