May That Global Awakening Come Today

The amount of blatantly vicious cruelty that it is being currently being meted out on this planet is overwhelmingly shocking. That human beings can become so tortuously evil is hard to comprehend. But when we consider that our present day society is a like a body with its head cut off, it starts to make sense. In the former peaceful happy days on this planet before the advent of the Kali Yuga 5,000 years there was a class of enlightened spiritual masters known as brahmanas who had fully realized what is Brahman, the Absolute Truth, and who guided all the members of the world society beginning with the political leaders, how to live in perfect harmony with the Absolute Truth, the source of all existence. ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, was founded in 1965 for the purpose of re-establishing this class of brahmanas for restoring global peace and prosperity to the human society. When the world leaders will realize their incompetency and take guidance from the ISKCON leaders how to perfectly manage the world situation a new era of peace and prosperity will dawn on this planet. We pray that that day of global awakening will come today before it's too late, before there is a complete meltdown of the world society into total anarchy. May that global awakening come today. Question: How to Convince My Husband Not to Eat Chicken?

What is the hierarchy of the living forms that a soul starts from till soul gets a human form?

Philosophically I believe in what Srila Prabhupada says that one should not eat meat. But how to convince my husband to stop eating non-veg ( mostly has chicken) at home?

Answer: Does He Want His Next Birth as a Chicken?

Citing the authority of Vedic wisdom Srila Prabhupada explains how through evolution the conditioned soul first takes birth in the aquatics, then the plants, next the insects and reptiles, thereafter the birds, followed by the beasts, and finally he gets a human form. It must be clearly noted that this evolution takes place as the soul transmigrates from one form to another in the cycle of birth and death. This is quite different from the nonsensical Darwinian theory that the forms are evolving. The forms are already there, created by Lord Brahma. And the conditioned soul, by taking birth after birth, gradually evolves to the human form from which he can either escape the cycle of birth and death by awakening his dormant Krishna consciousness or, by remaining absorbed material sense gratification, go back down into the lower speciesß, where he will get a better facility for material sense gratification.

If your husband does not mind becoming a chicken in his next birth to be eaten by the very same chickens that he ate, he may continue eating chicken.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
