By mentally focusing on who I really am beyond this temporary material body and on what is my actual eternal duty in the service of my spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and my eternal lord, Sri Krishna, I am empowered to re-enter into my original consciousness of pure transcendental bliss. This divine state of consciousness, known as Krishna consciousness, which can also be called Christ consciousness or Allah consciousness, will solve all the problems of the human society. Question: How to Convince My Brother?

My brother says that happiness should not be conditional and that chanting is like a pre-condition that we have set for ourselves to stay happy. He says if love is unconditional then happiness will automatically be there and there is no need to depend on any other method or ritual or condition. My brother looks at everything religious suspiciously and tags it as ritualistic behavior backed by fear with no love or compassion involved. Kindly help me so that he begins to hear and associate with devotees.

Answer: Medicine Required to Revive Unconditional Love

The difficulty is that even though love is unconditional, we are not able, at the present time, to love unconditionally because we are so heavily polluted by so many selfish qualities such as lust, greed, anger, illusion, madness, and envy. Because of not being able to love unconditionally we are thus unable to experience any genuine happiness. So just as when one is sick, one requires medicine to get well, in our conditioned state we require medicine to revive our unconditional love. That medicine is the holy names of God. Anyone who sincerely chants God's holy names will personally experience the awakening of genuine unconditional love and happiness within their hearts and will thus smash into the dust the foolish arguments of your brother.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
