Lord Sri Krishna, God Himself, is fully manifested as the Hare Krishna mahamantra. So when you intensely focus your consciousness on this topmost of all mantras you are directly in contact with the Supreme Person, who is full of unlimited power, beauty, renunciation, knowledge, wealth, and fame. In other words, you transported into an inconceivably sublime, ecstatic dimension situated far, far beyond the world of birth, death, old age, and disease. Would you like to personally experience this? It is not difficult. All you have to do is chant with feeling:

Question: Better to Serve Here or in the Spiritual World?

What is better: to stay here and serve life after life or to go back to home, back to Godhead? What does Krishna want from us? Srila Prabhupada says our goal is to go back home, back to Godhead, but sometimes I read from the prayers of previous acharyas that the highest thing is to serve life after life, that it doesn't matter whether we are in hell or heaven.

Answer: Whatever Krishna Wants

For a devotee there is no difference between going back to Godhead and staying in the cycle of birth and death for delivering the fallen, conditioned souls back to their original home in the spiritual sky, because in either situation he remains intimately connected with Krishna in a pure loving relationship of transcendental bliss. Therefore what we should do is simply fully surrender ourselves to Krishna, accepting whatever place He gives us as our residence. We are willing stay in the material world eternally for delivering the illusioned souls back to Godhead. Or we are willing to go back to Godhead immediately, if that is what Lord Krishna desires. This detached mood of total surrender to Krishna makes us fully qualified to back to home, back to Godhead. In fact, by being in this totally surrendered mood we are already back to home, back to Godhead.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
