Deep Sea Diving in the Nectar of Krishna's Name

Krishna's name "Krishna" is Krishna Himself. Therefore those who are advanced in Krishna consciousness relish Krishna's name like anything. In fact they deep sea dive unlimitedly into the sweet nectarean ocean of Krishna-nama, the holy name of Krishna. In this connection it is stated in the Caitanya Caritamrita Adi 7.73 as follows:

kṛṣṇa-mantra haite habe saṁsāra-mocana
kṛṣṇa-nāma haite pābe kṛṣṇera caraṇa

“Simply by chanting the holy name of Krishna one can obtain freedom from material existence. Indeed, simply by chanting the Hare Krishna mantra one will be able to see the lotus feet of the Lord."

Therefore the devotees go on chanting, chanting, chanting day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, decade after decade. Each and every vibration of Krishna's unlimitedly sweet name brings them closer and closer to seeing the splendorously beautiful lotus feet of their most beloved Lord.

Question: Attracted More to Devotees' Pastimes

Sometimes I find the pastimes of Srila Prabhupada and other Vaishnavi acharyas to be more attractive than the pastimes of the Lord Himself. Is this an offense? If at the time of death one remembers any of the great devotees instead of Lord Krishna what will be his fate?

Aspiring to be servant of your servant,

Answer: Krishna is More Pleased

Srila Prabhupada says:

"The Pandavas were so dear to Krishna. So it is better to hear about the Pandavas than to hear about Krishna. To hear about Krishna, people may be very much inclined, but the sastra says, "To hear about the devotees of Krishna is still better.’"
—from a lecture on the Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.15.51 -- Los Angeles, December 28, 1973

Krishna is more pleased when you are attracted to His devotees pastimes than when you are attracted to His pastimes. The more you become attracted to His devotees’ pastimes, the more your dormant love for Krishna will awaken within your heart. If you remember one of the great devotees at the time of death, your going back to home, back to Godhead is assured.
