Blessed by the Holy Land of India

Today we are blessed by a return to the holy land of India. India is where the Supreme Lord has repeatedly appeared and displayed His transcendental pastimes throughout the ages. It is also the place where so many great spiritual masters have appeared. Although modern day India is covered by the current population's impassioned pursuit of sense gratification, the great spiritual potency of India is there just below the surface, experienceable and perceivable by those who see through the eyes of the scriptures. In his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 5.4.9 Srila Prabhupada describes how Lord Caitanya has given special importance to the people of India:

"This planet known as Bharata-varsa is also called punya-bhumi, the pious land. At the present moment Bharata-bhumi, or Bharata-varsa, is a small piece of land extending from the Himalaya Mountains to Cape Comorin. Sometimes this peninsula is called punya-bhumi. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has given special importance to the people of this land:

bhārata-bhūmite haila manuṣya-janma yāra
janma sārthaka kari' kara para-upakāra

"One who has taken his birth as a human being in the land of India (Bharata-varsa) should make his life successful and work for the benefit of all other people." (Cc. Adi 9.41) The inhabitants of this piece of land are very fortunate. They can purify their existence by accepting this Krishna consciousness movement and go outside Bharata-bhumi (India) and preach this cult to benefit the whole world."

We are most fortunate that one Indian, our beloved spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, took Lord Caitanya's order seriously to bless the world with Krishna consciousness. If every Indian would do this, there would soon the dawning of a golden age of peace and happiness on this planet. We pray for that day to come soon.

Question: Who Am I?

Please accept my humble obeisance.

I have some questions which haunt me always: Who am I? Am I a fallen soul? Is it possible for me to know myself? Is it possible for me to become free from the eternal chain of birth and death? Is self-realization possible in this present life?

Ramendra

Answer: You Are Krishna's Eternal Servant

You are the eternal servant of Krishna, but because of your foolish attempt to try to enjoy separately from the Lord you have fallen into the cycle of repeated birth and death. However, by now surrendering to Krishna you will fully realize your eternal spiritual identity and become free from the cycle of birth and death in this very lifetime. If you will fully surrender to Krishna by strictly following the orders of His representative, the bona fide spiritual master, upon leaving your present body at the time you will immediately go back to home, back to Godhead.
