Krishna's Stupendously Enchanting Flute Playing
Lord Sri Krishna is the supreme flute player because nobody can surpass Him in His enchanting ability. In the Krishna Book, a gopi girl describes Krishna's flute playing as follows: "When He plays His flute, all the cows and other animals of Vrindavana, although engaged in eating, simply take a morsel of food in their mouths and stop chewing. Their ears raise up and they become stunned. They do not appear alive but like painted animals. Krishna's flute-playing is so attractive that even the animals become enchanted, and what to speak of ourselves." And in the Srimad Bhagavatam we find the following verses: "O pious mother Yasoda, your son, who is expert in all the arts of herding cows, has invented many new styles of flute-playing.
