Heading Out to Klaipeda For Even More Nectar

20 October 2013--1:19pm--After finishing six lectures and many ecstatic kirtans at the Holy Name Retreat, now it's time to head out to the west coast of Lithuania on the Baltic Sea to give an evening lecture at the Sunday Feast program of the Hare Krishna group in Klaipeda, Lithuania. I cannot imagine a life any more ecstatic than this of being fully absorbed 24 hours a day in hearing and chanting the glories of the Lord. I was a lost soul totally blinded by material senses gratification. But then Srila Prabhupada with the help of Vishnujana Swami saved me from this material existence. I am eternally indebted to both of them.

We chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra regularly, but after our son's departure from this material world many people say that we should not chant it because it frees us from maya or illusion. Is this true?

Answer: An Intelligent Man Does Not Accept Guidance From Fools

I am sorry to hear of the untimely departure of your son. Rest assured that he is not dead. He has simply been transferred to a different department in which his activities will continue without interruption.

It is amazing how improperly you have been advised. Your advisors have rightly understood that the Hare Krishna mahamantra frees one from maya or illusion, but yet they are so foolish that they are advising you not to chant it. This means that they are advising you to stay in illusion, which is the very cause of all of our suffering. Instead of encouraging you to become happy, they are encouraging you to remain in a suffering condition. An intelligent man will never take advice from less intelligent fools.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
