Stresslessness at Enterprise Mauritius

On 6 June 2013, I was invited to give a seminar on stresslessness to an agency of the Mauritian government known as Enterprise Mauritius. This is the governmental agency charged with the responsibility to promote a strong export industry for Mauritian goods. I explained to them that stresslessness is automatically achieved when we put God back in the center of our lives, back where He belongs. As long as we try to keep ourselves in the center, which is an artificial position, no matter how successful we may be, we will ultimately find ourselves in a distressful situation. it is only when we fully dovetail all of our thoughts, words, and deeds with the pleasure of the Lord that we can regain our original natural consciousness of pure unadulterated blissfulness.

Question: Can I Read While Chanting Japa?

Dear Gurudeva,

Accept my pranam to you. I have a question for you. Is it possible to chant the Hare Krishna mahamantra while reading spiritual or general books? if yes, how should I practice it, and if not, then why?

Answer: Chant First. Read Later.

Chanting the Hare Krishna mantra on japa beads is a time of intense meditation exclusively on the sound vibration of the mantra. It is not a time for reading books. If you read while you are chanting, you will not be able to give your full attention to the mantra. Thus your chanting will be inattentive and improper. Therefore you should read books only after you have completed your daily Hare Krishna mahamantra japa mala meditation.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
