Another Day, Another Adventure

In the Bhagavad-gita Lord Sri Krishna declares that He is adventure. What this means for his devotee is that his every day is another thrilling adventure. There is no question of hum drum or boredom for the devotee because He is associating with Lord Sri Krishna at every minute. He wakes up with great excitement each morning knowing that a wonderfully new and unique adventurous day awaits him. And he is not at all fearful at the time of death. For him the time of death is simply another day, another adventure as he dives ever deeper into the unlimitedly sweet mellows of the ocean of Krishna consciousness.

Question: How to Get Free From Lust?

I have noticed that how much ever I try to get free from my lusty desire at moments I seem to fail. I am practicing Krishna consciousness and yet sometimes I have lusty urges. Probably due to my past karma of watching certain movies, reading certain magazines etc. My question is: How to react to such urges and finally get free from them? How should I act?

Answer: Fill Your Heart With Krishna

If you will practice filling your mind with the superior quality thoughts of Krishna, gradually the inferior quality thoughts of sex pleasure will go away. So as much as possible chant Hare Krishna, read Krishna conscious literature, hear Hare Krishna kirtans and lectures, and tell others about Krishna. In this way your heart will become so full of Krishna that there won't be room for any nonsense lusty thoughts. 'Then when Mr. Lust comes to check in at the hotel of your heart he will see of big sign, "No Vacancy", and move on somewhere else to look for a place to stay.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
