Relishing Krishna Bhakti in Russia

Krishna consciousness or Krishna bhakti is transcendental and thus universally practicable. It does not matter, where one may be situated in this material world. Wherever you are, you can practice Krishna consciousness because if you are tuned into Krishna, you are transcendentally situated beyond this material existence in the timeless realm of eternity, knowledge, and bliss. In other words, if you tune into Krishna, you will always feel the bliss.

Question: If Everything is Brahman, Why Do Bhakti?

In his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 1.5.33 Srila Prabhupada says. "When everything is used in the service of the Lord, we can experience that there is nothing except the Supreme Brahman. The Vedic Mantra that 'everything is brahman' is thus realized by us."

My question is, "If everything is Brahman, then what is the need to use it in Krishna's service to see that? And for that matter, why do we have to engage it in His service, because ultimately Krishna is already enjoying anyway?"

Answer: In Order to See that Everything is Brahman.

The only way to come to the enlightened position of experiencing everything as Brahman, is to engage everything in the service of the Supreme Brahman, Lord Sri Krishna. If one does not engage everything in Krishna's service, it is not possible to experience everything as Brahman or spirit. Although Krishna is the Supreme Enjoyer, He is not happy to see that some of His beloved children are caught up in the cycle of birth and death. Therefore out of compassion He comes to this world to rescue the lost souls of this world by bringing them back to His eternal kingdom in the spiritual sky.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Who is this Krishna?

Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
