Question: How to Make Sex Divine?

You said,

"While sex with one's wife according to the guidelines of the scriptures is divine, non-procreational sex with one's wife is illicit sex. In fact, it is so undesirable that Srila Prabhupada describes it as prostitution his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam, Third Canto, Chapter 14, Text 33, 'In other words, sex life with one's wife is equal to prostitution if the regulations are not properly followed.'"

So please tell me the guidelines of the scriptures which makes the act of sex a divine activity?

Answer: Follow These Guidelines

The Vedic principle is that sex is only for procreation, not recreation. If a couple desires a child, they should first consult their spiritual master to ensure their spiritual readiness. And then with the spiritual master's blessings, they may engage in sex once in a month just after the woman's menstrual cycle after the husband and wife have both chanted at least 50 rounds of the Hare Krishna mantra on japa mala beads. Such sex life is a holy sacrament and will attract a highly qualified spiritual being to take birth in the womb. If sex is engaged in simply out of lust, children of a demoniac quality will be born.
