We are On a Mission to Conquer the World

Image
From Sydney, Australia on 27 March 1972 Srila Prabhupada wrote as follows in a letter to his disciple, Jagadisa, "If we simply repeat this philosophy exactly as it is, without any misrepresentation or adulteration, then this movement will never be checked, and we will conquer the world." So let's present our teachings purely, just as Srila Prabhupada gave them to us without any addition, subtraction, or adulteraion, and we will be amazed by how much this Krishna consciousness movement will have a transformational, uplifting effect on our greatly misguided, deteriorated modern day society. Krishna is a Most Truly Phenomenal Person

Image
Lord Brahma has so wonderfully described our most wonderful Krishna in the fifth chapter of the Brahma Samita text 32: aṅgāni yasya sakalendriya-vṛtti-manti paśyanti pānti kalayanti ciraṁ jaganti ānanda-cinmaya-sad-ujjvala-vigrahasya govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi "I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, whose transcendental form is full of bliss, truth, substantiality and is thus full of the most dazzling splendor. Each of the limbs of that transcendental figure possesses in Himself, the full-fledged functions of all the organs, and eternally sees, maintains and manifests the infinite universes, both spiritual and mundane." His senses are fully interchangable. He can see with His ears, hear with His eyes, smell with His hand, etc. Even with His finger He can manifest infinite material and infinte spiritual universes. There is truly no other person like Krishna in all of existence. If we fully surrender unto Him, our lives will become unlimitedly nectarean. Sankars...

My Disciple, Labangalatika Devi Dasi, Has Departed

Image
My disciple, Labangalatika Devi Dasi, was nearing the end of her life and on my request was writing me regular reports on her condition. The last email I received from her was on 24 March of this year. After that she was writing no more reports. On 6 April I received these words from her sister, Elizabeth, who is a Christian: "I am writing to let you know that my sister Labangalatika died yesterday morning (5 April) at 2:00am. We had her transported to hospice to try to get fluids into her but they couldn’t get a vein for the IV-she was too far gone by then. They gave her meds to calm her and reduce pain, and she entered into an agony for maybe an hour or hour and a half. I swear I heard her chanting Hare Krishna during her agony, but much of it was unintelligible. Then she lay on her stomach and struggled for air for quite a while. I dozed in a chair until just right at 2:00am when I suddenly awakened. She let out three or four sweet melodious sighs, like those of one who found ...

We Should Not Cheat Ourselves

Image
Here we are, eternal spiritual beings qualitatively one with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Who is eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss. But yet out of our addiction to material sense gratification we keep foolishly misidentifying ourselves with these temporary bodies, which are full of ignorance and misery. It's high time that we wake up and submissively hear from the great sages who are so expertly guiding us how to get out of this imprisonment in this material existence and go back to Home, back to Godhead. Would You Like Unlimited Bliss?

Image
In a letter to one of his disciples Srila Prabhupada describes how we can attain unlimited bliss. Here is what he wrote: "I have noted your unbounded enthusiasm to carry out this great mission of spreading the light of love of Godhead in this hellish material world. That is the only requirement for successfully completing the perfection of the living condition, that you should always be enthusiastic to perform services unto the lotus feet of the Lord despite all obstacles, and then you can be assured that all of the other qualities or necessities for pure devotional service will be met, such as patience, determination, etc. and then without doubt you shall be delivered to the realm of unlimited bliss, freed from all anxieties." So let us all now be intelligent and become now deliverd into the realm of unllimited bliss. Sankarshan Das Adhikari. The Fox Could Not Get the Grapes

Image
Srila Prabhupada nicely explains how the Mayavadi sannyasia falsely renouce this material world: "When a person fails to become the Lord of the universe it is like the sly fox who attempts to taste the grapes and failing to do so says the grapes are sour. The Mayavadi sannyasis are frustrated beings in their attempt to enjoy the world, therefore they say the world is false or the grapes are sour. The world is not false, Krsna is the Supreme Truth and the world is His energy, therefore the energy of the supreme truth cannot be false; but we must know that this energy is inferior to his spiritual energy." Devotees see that this world is real even though it is Lord Krishna's inferior material energy. Therefore they engage things of this world in Krishna's and thus transform them from matter into spirit and become full of bliss even in this miserable material existence. Sankarshan Das Adhikari. We Should Be a Lamb at Home and a Lion in the Chase

Image
Srila Prabhupada writes in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam, First Canto, Chapter 12, Text 22: "One should be a lamb at home and a lion in the chase." This means that with Guru, Krishna, and Vaisnavas we should be very meek and humble. But wherever we see the influence of the Age of Kali we should be like lions to drive away the influence of the Age of Kali. This Kali influence may also sometime manifest amongst neophyte devotees. In such cases we should also be very strong to drive away influence of Kali. Sankarshan Das Adhikari.
