Glorious victory requires opposition
Krishna Kills Ariṣṭāsura, the bull demon
His killing so many demons makes Him more glorious.
There is No Question of Glorious Victory Without Strong Opposition
Thought for Day--8 January 2026
Just as the kṣatriyas—the warrior class in Vedic culture—were enlivened and inspired to fight powerful enemies in battle, those who are dedicated to spreading Krishna consciousness do not shy away from philosophical battle. Rather, they find enthusiasm and joy in defeating all opposing arguments—arguments that challenge the Vedic siddhānta, the conclusive understanding derived from the Vedic literature and confirmed by the great ācāryas.By smashing to smithereens the most powerful arguments of all varieties of materialists—the hedonists, the atheists, the agnostics, the so-called scientists, the pantheists, etc.—the Vaiṣṇava preachers achieve the most glorious victory and give the greatest pleasure to Lord Sri Krsihna.
Just as Krishna relished killing so many demons, His devotees similarly relish defeating the demons of countless opposing philosophical arguments.
This can be compared to flying a kite. The kite flies high by opposing the wind, not by going with the wind.
Hoping this meets you in good health and in a cheerful mood,
Your ever well-wisher.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
All glories to Gurudev and Gurumata.
Gurudev, today I gave in to a sense gratification that I have not been indulging in for the past few days, as I have been getting devotees’ association. But today I gave in to that temptation and I could not remember the knowledge at that moment, and now I regret it. Why did I do it? And how should I work so that I do not do it again? Please enlighten me, Gurudev.

How I Came to Krishna Consciousness
In a world obsessed with money, fame, and fleeting pleasures—leading nowhere but to the grave or the crematorium—I walked away. Life felt so meaningless, I couldn’t stand it. This is the true story of how I turned my back on the American materialistic dream and discovered something far greater: Krishna consciousness. A gripping journey of inner revolution and a call to awaken a world civilization on the edge of collapse.Read My Memoir You'll Love It!
