Here is My Most Valuable Treasure

Today I received an image of Srila Prabhupada in Nairobi and I was immediately reminded my most valuable treasure, trillions of more valuable than all of the gold, diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires found throughout this entire material world. This treasure is a letter that Srila Prabhupada wrote me from London on 7 September 1971, in which he wrote:

"I can see also that you are a very sincere and enthusiastic boy and are anxious for spreading this movement. Those are first class qualifications for making advancement in Krishna Consciousness. So continue enthusiastically as you are doing and Krishna will surely bless you."

What made this letter even more special was that when Srila Prabhupada signed his name with the same pen (you can see this in a copy of the letter below) he wrote: "P.S. On Friday night we are going to Nairobi." Not only was he accepting me as his disciple, but also as his son with whom he would share his personal affairs.

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Krishna is not a dictator, He is our most intimate, loving, well-wishing father. He wants nothing more than to have sweet loving relationships with each of us, His dearmost children. Our foolishness is that we ran away from home, like less intelligent children, thinking we could happier if we were away from Him trying to enjoy on our own. This was our big mistake. Now we need to go back home. The spiritual master has come to us as God's representative to instruct us how to get back to our eternal home. But are so proud that we do not want to hear from the bonafide spiritual master. Thus we continue to rot in this hellish material existence.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful mood.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
