Become a Krishna Addict
1 May 2025
In today's world, many people are addicted to different things: cigarettes, alcohol, porno, etc. How do they become addicted to these things? They become addicted by regularly smoking, drinking alcohol, looking at porn, etc until this finally becomes an addiction. They become psychologically dependent on it and they feel that they cannot live without it.So the same principal can be applied to Krishna consciousness, By regularly hearing about Krishna talking about Krishna, etc., we will gradually become so much addicted to Him that we will not be able to live a single moment without being connected with Him in some way or other. This is spiritual perfection and this brings us into the spiritual world.
So do yourself the ultimate favor. Become a Krishna addict now as soon as possible. In this way you will forget all the other addictions that have kept you locked up in the cycle of birth and death since time immemorial. You will become totally absorbed in love of Krishna, the ultimate spiritual perfection.

Hare Krishna Srila Gurudev,Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to you and Srila Prabhupada.
Dear Gurudev, I am deeply shaken by the recent terrorist attack at Pahalgam where people were killed after being asked their religion.
I feel they are fanatics of their own religion. Are they really bad? Is it ignorance? Should someone be overly driven and protective of their religion to such an insane extent?
Please help me to understand that how such brutal happenings can be understood and how can they be stopped or terrorists be changed? Can such people be introduced or moved by Krishna consciousness? If yes, how? After all, their soul also has Paramātmā seated within.
Please enlighten me and correct me where I am wrong.
Please forgive me for any offences against your Lotus feet.
Your most fallen servant,
Jahanvi
Answer
From: Austin, Texas USAMy Dear Jahanvi,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Advanced devotees are always shaken by the horrible brutality going on every day in this material world. This compassion is one of the symptoms of being Krishna conscious.
In this regard Srila Prabhupada has explained, “A Vaiṣṇava is called para-dukha-dukhī, para-dukha-dukhī. Vaiṣṇava is not simply interested for his benefit. Vaiṣṇava is interested for the benefit of all living entities.”
These brutalities are all reactions for previous sinful activities. The way to stop all of this is to teach everyone to surrender to Krishna. In this way all of these sinful reactions will stop.
I hope this meets you in the best of health
and in a cheerful mood.
Your ever well-wisher,

My Spiritual Journey in a Nutshell
As an American youth I was taught to believe in the. "American dream": Study hard, get a good education and a good job to get a good wife some good kids in a good house to enjoy a good life. But when I got to college, I realized that this was not enough. I wanted to know what the meaning of life is, but no one could tell me. So, I took to the path of self-realization and was blessed in 1968 with the Hare Krishna mantra and the worship of Radha and Krishna. (I did not know about ISKCON.) This inspired me to drop out of college and renounce the world to become a holy beggar in India. But on the way to India, I realized that to renounce everything I had to ultimately renounce renunciation itself and accept something transcendental Thus I embraced the mission of delivering the world from chaos. For this purpose, I adopted the life a singer/songwriter who in 1969 became recognized and very much appreciated. In 1971, seeking spiritual perfection, I followed the example of Lord Jesus Christ and prayed to God how I could become His perfect servant. Then God revealed to me path of pure Krishna bhakti as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. On the most auspicious day of 12 August 1971, he accepted me as his disciple. Now on his order and under his most expert guidance I have fully devoted my life for awakening pure love of God within my heart and for making the entire world Krishna conscious. To read about my journey in detail get my memoir:
