One moon illuminates the entire sky.

"Godhead is light. Nescience is darkness. Where there is Godhead there is no nescience."
One Moon Can Illuminate the Entire Sky
On a morning walk on 23 March in 1974, Bombay (Mumbai) Srila Prabhupada told us,"I don't make any compromise with these rascals. No words. No, no. I'll never make that. Even if I don't get any disciple, I'll be satisfied. But I cannot make any compromise as these rascals. I cannot make. Ekaś candras tamo hanti na ca tārā sahasrasaḥ. If I create one moon, that is sufficient. I don't want many stars. That was my Guru Mahārāja's principle, and that is my principle. What is the use of having number of fools and rascals? If one man understands rightly, he can deliver the whole world."
In this connection he told us in a lecture in New York on 12 April 1969, "But fortunately, by Kṛṣṇa's grace, many moonlike boys and girls have come to me. You see? Many moons. [chuckles] I was thinking of having only one moon, but Kṛṣṇa... I am hopeful that there are many moons, and in future they'll be doing very nice."
So, let us all now be those brilliant moons that Srila Prabhupada wants us to be.

P.S. "Ekaś candras tamo hanti na ca tārā sahasrasaḥ" is stated by Cāṇakya Paṇḍita. It means, "If there is one moon in the sky, that is sufficient for illumination. There is no need of millions of stars."

Hare KrishnaPlease accept my humble obeisances
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I'm a 20 year old girl from Hyderabad, India.
I got introduced to Krishna consciousness 3 years ago by my friend.
At early stages I have been practicing my devotional service with taste and interest
But when I see myself now I don't have any taste now .
I hardly have a desire to chant and also my mind is wandering to a variety of thoughts even if I know that these thoughts are not helpful for my devotional service.
I give up on them and I regret afterwards.
Please guide me on how to cease these unnecessary thoughts and to regain the same taste in devotional service back that I had 3 years before..

From: Mayapur, IndiaMy Dear Nandini,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Taste or no taste chant at least 16 rounds of japa mala every day before sunrise. Make this a requirement that you must do every day. Become steady in this and gradually your taste will awaken. Its already there within you. Simply it is asleep. This steady chanting will awaken your taste and your nonsense thoughts will vanish.
I hope this meets you in the best of health.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
