There is Truly Nothing Sweeter than Devotee Association

On 31 October 2024 when I was giving the Srimad Bhagavatam class to all the assembled devotees in the temple room at ISKCON's Krishna Balarama Temple I was very much encouraged in giving my lecture by the brilliant smiling face of HIs Holiness Sri Krishna Caitanya Swami, who was sitting in front of everyone directly in front of me. This reminds me of the following verse from the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita Madhya 22.54:

'sādhu-saį¹…ga', 'sādhu-saį¹…ga'—sarva-śāstre kaya
lava-mātra sādhu-saį¹…ge sarva-siddhi haya

"Association with devotees is recommended by all the śāstras because by even a moment of such association one can receive the seed for all perfection."

In this verse "lava-mātra" means "even for a moment". Srila Prabhupada explains that according to astronomical calculations, a lava is one eleventh of a second.

So even if we can get the association of a devotee for even one eleventh of a second our life can become completely transformed. We can become liberated from this material existence. Therefore we must always seek out and take advantage of the association of the devotees of Lord Sri Krishna

I read a beautiful quote by Srila Radhanath Swami Maharaj about "Real Ego". He was explaining that if we consider ourselves as this body then it's false ego and if we consider ourselves as spirit souls then it's real ego . He further continued that false ego should must bi given up but the real ego can't ever be quitted as it's the real ego .
In some incidents of our life we require to have that false ego as just take an example of a soccer player , if he does not have that false ego than he cant be the best striker which he wanna become.
So is it correct to have that false ego but only at those situations where it is really essential?

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
