A Srimad Bhagavatam Set Saved Their Lives

Today's Thought for the Day is a wonderful sankirtan story from Shastra-krit das. Here it ts:

As you can sort of see in the photo, I was getting ready to leave when this sweet brother and sister came by, asking excitedly if I had a* Bhagavatam* set.

Then the brother, Bhavesh, told this amazing story, how a couple of years back they got a *Bhagavatam* set from me, and on the drive back from Atlanta to Alabama, an 18-wheeler tractor trailer crushed their van--but the whole family walked away without a scratch--including the *Bhagavatam * set!

Bhavesh was completely convinced that the *Bhagavatam* saved them that day. So when he saw me this evening, he brought his sister over to get a full set of *Bhagavatams *from me again!

Let this serve as an example for all of us to take every available oppottunity to distribute Srila Prabhupada's books.

Answer

I suggest that both you and your husband should take to Krishna consciousness, the perfection of all religious paths. When you come to Krishna consciousness you become both perfect Muslims and perfect Christians. By your both coming to Krishna consciousness you will have a perfectly harmonious, happy married life.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
