People Ask "Why Go to the Temple?"

Srila Prabhupada taught us the following in a Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam lecture on October 5, 1976 in Vrindavan:

"So this is exactly according to the śāstra. And the argument that 'God is everywhere. Why you should go to the temple?' And what is this nonsense? If God is everywhere, why not in the temple? But this is their argument, nonsense argument. God is everywhere, but not in the temple. This is their argument. So we do not care. Nobody cares. So many agitators came and gone, but the Vedic process will go on. 'Let the dogs bark; the caravan will pass.' There is no difficulty. So on the whole, this is Vedic civilization, that the vigraha of the Supreme Personality of Godhead accepted as He is present. We should take it that Kṛṣṇa... Actually, this is the fact. As you have read in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, there was the Sākṣi-gopāla history, and the two brāhmaṇas, they promised before the Deity, and later on there was misunderstanding, and the Deity from Vṛndāvana went to bear witness in Orissa, more than thousands of miles away. And that Sākṣi-gopāla, witness Gopāla—Sākṣī means witness—is still being worshiped in Jagannātha Purī, near. There is a station, Sākṣi-gopāla. So as the Deity of the Lord, vigraha, should not be considered as made of stone, wood, similarly, guru also should not be accepted as ordinary human being. He should be given all respect as we give to the Supreme Personality of Godhead."

We should never follow the advice of the barking dogs. We should hear instead from the bona fide spiritual master.

Question: Prabhupada Told Disciples to Be Diksha Gurus?

Hare Krishna Prabhu
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Can you please tell me where Srila Prabhupada said to his disciples to become Diksha Gurus? And if it so, than why so many gurus are falling down or they are dancing on dabang or Bollywood songs in their disciples marriage in karmi dress? What made them like this if they are practicing Prabhupada's order?

Your servant,

Manish Manghan

Answer: Yes, He Did

From: Austin, Texas USA

My Dear Manish,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Srila Prabhupada ordered us on 17 December 1973. "Become guru and deliver the whole world."

On May 28, 1977 Srila Prabhupada said, "When I order, 'You
become guru,' he becomes regular guru. That's all. He becomes
disciple of my disciple. That's it."

So Srila Prabhupada clearly instructed that the new devotees coming to ISKCON after his departure would become the disciples of his disciples. Those who are envious may try to twist these words for their own nefarious purpose, but those who are sincerely following Srila Prabhupada can easily understand the point that Srila Prabhupada is making.

Those who are envious say that I cannot become a guru, but what to speak of guru, Srila Prabhupada personally wrote me in a letter that I could aspire to be jagad-guru, the spiritual master of the whole universe.

So I don't take these barking dog critics were seriously.

If some of the other gurus are falling down, that is their problem, not mine. My duty is to become guru and deliver the whole world. On the order of Srila Prabhupada I am trying my level best to do that. So now I am humbly begging you that you kindly assist me in my mission to deliver the world.

Is that allright?

I hope this meets you in the best of health.
Your ever well-wisher,
