Is Homosexuality Allowed in Krishna Consciousness?
Sometimes we are asked if homosexuality is allowed in Krishna consciousness. For the answer we go to the Srimad Bhagavatam, Third Canto, Chapter 20, Text 26:
pāhi māṁ paramātmaṁs te
preṣaṇenāsṛjaṁ prajāḥ
tā imā yabhituṁ pāpā
upākrāmanti māṁ prabho
"Lord Brahmā, approaching the Lord, addressed Him thus: My Lord, please protect me from these sinful demons, who were created by me under Your order. They are infuriated by an appetite for sex and have come to attack me."
PURPORT by Srila Prabhupada
"It appears here that the homosexual appetite of males for each other is created in this episode of the creation of the demons by Brahmā. In other words, the homosexual appetite of a man for another man is demoniac and is not for any sane male in the ordinary course of life."
So the conclusion is that homosexuality is demoniac. It is against the principles of Krishna consciousness and should thus be given up. It is illict sex.

My question -
What would you suggest to a gay devotee who comes to you for advice about how to live his life? Can he become Kṛṣṇa Conscious? Will Kṛṣṇa accepts individuals with alternate sexuality? How should a homosexual live his life to avoid sufferings? Can a gay krsna bhakta find a guru? Can he be initiated? Do we have any examples in past?
I have read that few of the very first disciples of Prabhupada in America were gay, is that true? Please help, Guruji 🙏🏻

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Since our principle is to only have sex for procreation all forms of gay sex are illicit. The passing of semen is to be avoided as much as possible only used as is necessary for procreation because the more that one passes semen the more he shortens his life span, weakens his memory, and becomes susceptible to disease. Even married couples are forbidden to have any kind of recreational sex.
But two gay men can most certainly live together as life partners to assist each other in awakening their dormant Krishna consciousness provided that they no longer indulge in gay sex.
Strong feelings of affection are not forbidden. We see even that the great Vaisnava acharyas had strong affection for their devotee companions. For example Srila Narottam Das Thakur has sung:
rāmacandra-saṅga māge narottama-dāsa
"Narottama dāsa always desires the company of Rāmacandra Cakravartī." (Of course, it's not that Narottam or Ramacandra were gay.)
The bona fide spiritual will accept anyone from any background as a disciple who is willing to chant at least 16 rounds of Hare Krishna japa daily and strictly avoid illicit sex, intoxication, meat eating, and gambling.
Some of our early devotees may have been gay, but they easily gave it up by getting a higher taste from Krishna consciousness.
