Transcendental Visitors to ISKCON Austin

On Monday May 3, 2021 we were very much blessed here at ISKCON Austin with a visit from the devotes from ISKCON Gainesville, Florida accompanied by their temple president, my beloved godbrother, His Grace Sriman Kalakantha Prabhu. Being with my godbrother reminds me of this line from a song by Narottam Das Thakur:

rāmacandra-saṅga māge narottama-dāsa

Translation: Narottama dāsa always desires the company of Rāmacandra Cakravartī.

Srila Prabhupada explains the above line as follows:

"Narottama dāsa’s friend was Rāmacandra Cakravartī. Therefore he prays, 'I always desire the company of Rāmacandra Cakravartī.' He desires a devotee's company. The whole process is that we should always pray for the mercy .of the superior ācāryas and keep company with pure devotees. Then it will be easier for us to advance in Kṛṣṇa consciousness and receive the mercy of Lord Caitanya and Lord Kṛṣṇa."

Kalakantha Prabhu is especially dear to me because he is maintaining the Hare Krishna lunch program at the University of Florida that was my service from 1973 through 1975. I was to be the fortunate soul who was sent by Amarendra Prabhu to restart that program in 1973.

The vast majority of spiritual teachers in today’s world are completely bogus and are poisoning the world with so many false teachings to misguide the innocent public. It is extremely rare to find a bona fide spiritual master, the spiritual master who has been blessed with perfect knowledge and teaches perfect knowledge. There are such spiritual masters, but has to be very, very fortunate to find one.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Who is this Krishna?

Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
