Sex Life Within Marriage Must Be Restricted
There is a big misconception going around ISKCON that within marriage you can have sex whenever you feel like it. This is completely against Srila Prabhupada's teachings and is factually illicit sex, which binds one to stay in the cycle of birth and death. In the spiritual world sex does not exist. So anyone who wants to become qualified to attain the spiritual sex must completely give up sex.
Sex can be temporarily used for begetting Krishna conscious children but for no other purpose. If a couple wants to raise Krishna conscious children they can have sex only once a month 4-6 days after the wife's menstrual cycle and after they have both chanted at least 50 rounds of japa. Those who do not follow this principle and are having illicit sex and are disqualifying themselves for attaining the spiritual world.

I am stupidly doing the abominable sin of masturbation. And I just cannot stop. I keep doing it again and again. I made a promise to God not to do it, but I still did it. I know this is the greatest offence but I didn't knew that I couldn't immediately stop it and keep on doing it many times even after I've made promises to god not to do it again. This was all becuase of my stupidity. Please I humbly request your help to attone for that. Thank you.

The solution for masturbation is to first of all realize that you the more you pass semen, the more you will become subject to disease, the more you will lose your intelligence, and the more you will shorten your life span. The semen is meant to be kept in body as much possible for longevity, intelligence and resistance to disease. In this connection there is a Sanskrit term, "ūrdhva-retaḥ", which is described by Srila Prabhupada as follows:
"Ūrdhva-retaḥ refers to one who can control sex life and who instead of wasting semen by discharging it, can use this most important substance accumulated in the body to enrich the brain. One who can completely control sex life is able to work wonderfully with his brain, especially in remembering. Thus students who simply hear Vedic instructions once from their teacher could remember them verbatim without needing to read books, which therefore did not exist in former times."
Masturbation is illicit sex. By engaging in illicit sex one is inviting Yamaraja, the god of death, "Please come and kill me right now."
So instead of committing spiritual suicide by engaging in illicit sex, you should beg Lord Krishna to bless you with the supreme happiness of pure devotional service by chanting the Hare Krishna mantra as much as possible every day. This will satisfy your millions of times more than the so- called sex indulgence.

What is the solution? I am asking because I simply want to serve Krishna and it a stumbling block in the way of Bhakti. Please help.was it masturbation?
