Sometimes great devotees for the sake of teaching us how to overcome depression express so-called misery. We see this in the case of the great Vaisnava acharya in our disciplic succession, Srila Narottam Das Thakur who prays as follows in one of his songs: ​​​​​

hā hā prabhu nityānanda, premānanda sukhī
kṛpābalokana koro āmi boro duḥkhī

"My dear Lord Nityānanda, You are always joyful in spiritual bliss. Since You always appear very happy, I have come to You because I am most unhappy. If You kindly put Your glance over me, then I may also become happy."

So if any of you, my dear readers, ever feel depressed, simply chant the above prayer with full sincerity, taking complete shelter of Lord Nityānanda, and your depression will go away like magic.

The great devotee Dhruva Maharaja chanted the "Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya" mantra and was able to see the Personality of Godhead face to face. So is it possible that if I chant the Hare Krishna mantra daily that Lord Krishna will reveal Himself to me?

Yes, by chanting the Hare Krishna mantra regularly with full sincerity and devotion you will in due course of time become qualified to see Krishna face-to-face, eye-to-eye.

In this connection it is stated in the Brahma-samhita,
Chapter 5, Text 38 as follows:

premāñjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena
santaḥ sadaiva hṛdayeṣu vilokayanti
yaṁ śyāmasundaram acintya-guṇa-svarūpaṁ
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi

"I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who is Śyāmasundara, Kṛṣṇa Himself with inconceivable innumerable attributes, whom the pure devotees see in their heart of hearts with the eye of devotion tinged with the salve of love."

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
