Don't Be a Victim of Fraud

Don't Be a Victim of Fraud

Don't Be a Victim of Fraud

No one likes to be a victim of fraud. Thus the greatest foolishness is to deceive yourself by misidentifying your all-blissful, eternal spiritual identity with a temporary material body, which in due course of time will be withered away by old age, disease, and death. Therefore one should take the help of the Vedic wisdom and the bona fide spiritual master to understand his or her actual identity as an eternal spiritual being qualitatively one with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Who is eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss. Then one should master the supreme art of perfectly absorbing oneself on the spiritual platform with all one's thoughts, words, and deeds in all times, places, and circumstances. Due to his or her qualitative oneness with that Supreme Person the individual living being is also eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss. This will be tasted and fully relished at every minute as soon as one fully embraces the mood of total devotion to that Supreme Person, Who is unlimitedly lovable.

Are you ready, Amol, to do that now? I certainly hope so because I cannot stand to see anybody unnecessarily suffering.

Question: Do You Remember the Name of That Song?

Hare Krishna, Gurudeva,

Yesterday in class you mentioned a song about being "depressed," about our shortcomings that keep us from seeing Radha and Krishna face to face. Do you remember the name of the song? For context, I had asked if we should feel upset about not being strong enough to overcome material energy yet and you sang a few verses of this song as an example of the type of spiritual "depression" we can feel about not being qualified to see Krishna. The lyrics were something along the lines of "I'm too angry, lusty, greedy to see Radha Krishna." I've been searching this morning for the full lyrics but I haven't been able to find the song title or the singer. Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated!

Best,
Sanjay

Answer: Hari Hari Biphale by Narottam Das Thakur

From: ISKCON Austin, Texas USA

My Dear Sanjay,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

The song is Hari Hari Biphale by Narottam Das Thakur:

Hari Hari Biphale--Prayer to One's Beloved Lord (from Prārthanā)

hari hari! bifale janama goṅāinu
manuṣya-janama pāiyā, rādhā-kṛṣṇa nā bhajiyā,
jāniyā śuniyā biṣa khāinu

O Lord Hari, I have spent my life uselessly. Having obtained a human birth and having not worshiped Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, I have knowingly drunk poison.

golokera prema-dhana, hari-nāma-saṅkīrtana,
rati nā janmilo kene tāy
saṁsāra-biṣānale, dibā-niśi hiyā jwale,
jurāite nā koinu upāy

The treasure of divine love in Goloka Vṛndāvana has descended as the congregational chanting of Lord Hari's holy names. Why did my attraction for that chanting never come about? Day and night my heart burns from the fire of the poison of worldliness, and I have not taken the means to relieve it.

brajendra-nandana jei, śacī-suta hoilo sei,
balarāma hoilo nitāi
dīna-hīna jata chilo, hari-nāme uddhārilo,
tāra śākṣī jagāi mādhāi

Lord Kṛṣṇa, who is the son of the King of Vraja, became the son of Śacī (Lord Caitanya), and Balarāma became Nitāi. The holy name delivered all those souls who were lowly and wretched. The two sinners Jagāi and Mādhāi are evidence of this.

hā hā prabhu nanda-suta, vṛṣabhānu-sutā-juta,
koruṇā karoho ei-bāro
narottama-dāsa koy, nā ṭheliho rāṅgā pāy,
tomā bine ke āche āmāra

O Lord Kṛṣṇa, son of Nanda, accompanied by the daughter of Vṛṣabhānu, please be merciful to me now. Narottama dāsa says, "O Lord, please do not push me away from Your reddish lotus feet, for who is my beloved except for You?"

Srila Prabhupada has make several recordings of it in Bengali Language.
To make it more accessible to the English speaking world I have made it available sung with the English translation given by Srila Prabhupada on my CD "My Sweet Lord." You can hear it by clicking on the following link:
