When a Devotee is Going Through Hell
When things in a devotee's material situation go from bad to worse and from worse to worst, how does a devotee relate to this? He remembers that absolutely everything is acting and moving under the direction of Krishna. This consciousness is called Krishna consciousness. He accepts whatever suffering he undergoes as a minimization of what he actually deserves due to his previous sinful activities. He understands that Lord Krishna is kindly giving him only a token reaction for his past sins instead of the full reaction. He understands that his suffering is a special blessing from Lord Sri Krishna for his purification of consciousness. Thus instead of being disturbed by his suffering and overwhelmed by lamentation the devotee finds the way to keep his mind always peaceful and joyful.

What I have learned is that one cannot become a guru unless he is fully surrendered to the will of God as revealed by Lord Sri Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita and also to the instructions that he has received from his spiritual master.
Hoping this meet you well.
