Question: How to Serve Krishna Out of Love?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my most humble obeisances in the dust of Your lotus feet.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
All glories to You and Srimati Gurumataji!

Srila Gurudeva, I want to ask a question, which is bothering me for a long time.

I am ashamed to admit it, but often I am doing service not out of love and devotion, but out of fear. I am afraid of Krishna. Consciously or unconsciously I am making many mistakes, and I know that there are so many offences, and that we don't get taste for the holy names only due to our offences. So I am just being afraid of punishment, that I will suffer even more than now, if I will do something wrong. That Krishna won't accept me. I heard that "where is fear there is no place for love."

So what can I do? How to stop fearing Krishna and start serving Him and His devotees with love?

Answer: Duty Transforms to Love

Due to our past material conditioning it is natural that in the beginning we do not do devotional service out of love. The important thing is that we continue doing devotional service because by doing it dutifully under the order and direction of the spiritual master it become mystically transformed into pure love of God in due course of time. Since we have been totally entangled in material sense gratification for millions and billions of lifetimes, naturally it will take some time for us to overcome our past conditioning and become fully situated in pure love of God. So while the cleansing process of Krishna consciousness is gradually transforming us we have to be patient. Kindly know for certain that no matter what you motive is now, if you continue serving Krishna under the order of your spiritual master you will achieve the supreme perfection of pure love of Krishna and thus become eternally situated in pure transcendental bliss.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
