Symptoms of a Sadhu

A sadhu, a saintly person, is tolerant, merciful and friendly to all living entities. He has no enemies because he loves everyone. He is peaceful, he abides by the scriptures, and all his characteristics are sublime. He is a devotee of the Lord. His mercy is that he wants to enlighten all people in devotional service. He knows that unless people become devotees their human life will be spoiled, that they will be dragged down to the animal kingdom in their next birth. Therefore he travels all over the world teaching everyone to not spoil their human life in the pursuit of temporary material sense gratification, that they should instead fully absorb their lives in the devotional service of the Lord. He is not satisfied by his own liberation from material existence because he is always thinking of how the fallen souls of this material world can be delivered. If we are fortunate enough to be able to take shelter of such a great saintly person and we carefully and sincerely follow his instructions to the best of our ability, our spiritual perfection is guaranteed.

Question: Do You Talk With Krishna?

Do you talk with Lord Krishna face to face?

Kaspars

Answer: Not Enough

I sometimes pray to Krishna, but not enough. When I do pray to my beloved Lord, I beg Him to save me from my entanglement in material consciousness. I beg Him that somehow by His inconceivable mercy this materialistic rascal named Sankarshan Das can become a pure devotee who can successfully carry out his spiritual master's order to become guru and make the entire world Krishna conscious.

Sankarshan Das Adhikari
