Spiritual Perfection Guarantee

Our success in life depends on one thing and one thing only. We must always remain unflinchingly dedicated to four spiritual master no matter what may happen. Dedication to guru means that we must always keep our initiation vows to chant at least 16 rounds daily of the Hare Krishna mahamantra along with avoiding illicit sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling. We must accept our spiritual master's instructions as our very life and soul and always faithfully abide by them. This guarantees that we will attain spiritual perfection as soon as possible.

Question: Do Animals Create Karma?

That a person enjoys or suffers as a result of his past pious or impious karma is what we learn from all Vedic literature. Human birth is the top of the cycle out of 8,400,000 species. My doubt is:

1. Does one commit sinful activities in whatever form of life one is in, whether animal, aquatic or any other form of life, or is it only in human form that one misuses his minute independence?

2. If one does not commit sinful activities in other forms, then why should one suffer in human form at all?

3. If one commits sinful activities in other forms, then the jiva should not be held responsible as one neither has independence nor intelligence to distinguish between pious and impious activities. One is just following nature's laws for that particular form with no control over his actions.

Please advise.

Answer: Animals Burn Off Karma

Animals cannot sin because they are simply being conducted by three modes of material nature with no choice of acting this way or that way. Human beings, on the contrary, can sin because they have the choice of whether to act piously in the service of God or impiously in defiance of God. Whatever sinful reactions a human being suffers are from sins committed in his present human life or in past human lives. The suffering of animal life burns off sins from previous human births. The animals do not create any new karma for themselves.
